I am a native of the “Harricanes” and I live on the farm where I was raised. I joined Woodland, my mother's family church, when Lisa and I married in 1973. Our grandchildren are 4th generation of living members in the church, where both of my sons and their families are also active. I enjoy encouraging young people to live and love Jesus through activities and scripture. I particularly enjoy being outside working with the Baptist Men and Women (BMW) at Woodland, being on horseback and skiing.

I grew up at Woodland before moving away for a period of time. I am a retired educator, have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. I love visiting Disney World with my family, as well as enjoying time with my dog Sadie.

I am the 71 year old husband of Margaret, dad to my son Richard and his wife Mary and dad to Laura and her husband Stephen. I am PaPa to their children, Ashtyn and Connor. Margaret, Laura and I moved from Raleigh to our home on Woodland Church Road in May of 1987 and in October of 1987, we became members of Woodland Baptist Church.
I graduated from N. C. State University with a B.S. degree in 1971. I worked at Dorothea Dix Hospital for 17 years, first on the wards while in college, and then I worked in the Occupational Therapy Department. worked my final years at Dorothea Dix Hospital as workshop director in the Vocational Rehabilitation Facility. I became self-employed when I bought a custom cabinet shop from a housing contractor I had worked for and spent over 30 years building custom cabinets and other specialized wood projects before retiring two years ago.
I became a Christian while in the fourth grade. My father was a Baptist minister and baptized me. My service at Woodland includes but is not limited to serving as a deacon, teaching several Sunday School classes, Sunday School director, teaching children’s Bible drill, and serving a term as church director. I have served on many teams and committees throughout the years. I consider it a blessing to be able to serve my families for the next 3 years. I believe THE BEST IS YET TO COME FOR WOODLAND!

My wife Megan and I have three kids, Ari, Knox, and Everlie. Our older son, Ari, went to Preschool at Woodland when we first moved to the Wake Forest area. We loved the preschool so much, and we were looking for a church home, so it felt natural to visit Woodland for Sunday service. After meeting so many wonderful Woodlanders, we've been here ever since! In our spare time, the Deal's love anything outdoors: especially hiking, going to the mountains, and Jeepin'!

I have been a member at Woodland for about four years now and this is my second year of serving as a deacon. My husband, Tim and I moved to North Carolina from Indiana, and we are really enjoying being back in the south! We have two adult sons who are married to Carolina girls. One lives in Wake Forest and the other is soon to relocate near here. We are still getting to know people at Woodland and look forward to the time when the Church can resume all of the normal activities, which provide such a great environment for fellowship, discipleship and service.

I am a Randolph County, NC native and as an adult, have lived in several NC cities & a few other states, before making Wake County home in 1999. I was invited to Woodland in 2000, by two of Woodland's Prayer Warriors. We felt “at home” and knew we'd found our place of worship and Church family! I have two awesome daughters, Jackie & Kate. Music is my “happy place” which I get to enjoy through serving in a variety of Woodland's music ministries. My hobbies also include art, woodworking & DIY projects, cooking, and many outdoor activities.

I am originally from South Louisiana, but lost my Cajun accent long ago. It can return upon request! My husband, Mike, and I have long called NC home after settling in this area in the 80's. Mike and I work together in our commercial construction business. If you haven't heard how we came to Woodland, just ask...I’d be happy to share the story! I am mostly a homebody when not at work, but love summertime on the lake when I can enjoy being the designated boat driver.

My wife, Burnita and I grew up in north Raleigh graduating from Sanderson and Millbrook High Schools. We've lived around the Wake Forest area since our marriage in 1975. We both had careers with IBM. After being members of a local Baptist church for 40 years we became restless in that ministry in 2013. We loved the church and the people but did not realize God was simply preparing us to serve him here at Woodland. With many friends already at Woodland, we visited a few Sundays and fell in love with the Woodland family. Burnita likes helping with the children when possible while my favorite ministry at Woodland is the Baptist Men and Women (BMW). There is no better feeling than to serve someone in need and as a result be able to point them to Christ. We enjoy camping, spending time at Kerr Lake, water skiing, snow skiing, handyman work around the house (for me), and of course loving on grandkids.

My wife, Meaghan, and I are both originally from this area and we live in Wake Forest with our 3 year old son, Holton, and our Border Collie, Maddie. I grew up at Woodland and my wife and I returned to Woodland after moving back to Wake Forest after college. I am a CPA in Wake Forest and also play drums in the band at Woodland. My wife and I are both ECU graduates and we enjoy attending ECU sporting events, traveling, and taking our RV to see new places (and the beach)!

I have been married to my amazing husband and best friend, Tom, for 34 years. My family is from Greensburg PA, near Pittsburgh, but we have moved several times for my husband's work. We have two sons, Jacob and Thomas, who are in the area, a granddaughter Maeve and a dachshund named Lily! Tom and I were taking a motorcycle ride one day and that's when we found Woodland and decided to visit. We love our church family. It feels like home! I love being very active! Biking, kayaking, paddleboarding, camping, working out and cooking! I am a lunch lady at Jones Dairy Elementary and I absolutely love my job!
Tim Myers

Tim and the Myers family were excited to join the Woodland family in 2019! It’s allowed both Susan and Tim, originally from New England, to continue to plant roots in Wake Forest as a family where both Brett (8) and Ellie (6) were born, raised, and attend school. Tim, and his family have a passion for ALL the great outdoors have to offer, Mountains-to-Sea, please ask him about it anytime or join them on an adventure! Tim is excited to serve in Woodland’s Deacon Ministry and the Lord's plan for The Woodland congregation.

I'm 74 years old and was born and raised in Raleigh, N.C. My wife, Donna and I have been married for 45 years this coming June and have three children and four grandchildren. We came to Woodland Baptist Church when we moved to Youngsville, across the street from our former pastor and his family. I enjoy playing golf, spending time and going places with Donna.

I became a member of the Woodland Baptist Church family in 2016 and began serving as a deacon in 2018. I was blessed to have been raised to know Jesus from a young age and have continued to grow in my faith. I value the opportunity to serve my brothers and sisters in Christ as a deacon at Woodland. My wife, Meg, and I have three children. I work for a privately-owned, specialty insurance company that provides property and casualty products to businesses and individuals. My interests include travelling, the outdoors and serving as part of the Baptist Men & Women (BMW).
