"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7
Sometimes the verse above is hard to follow, especially when we are experiencing tumult or uncertainty in our lives. As humans, we all have times of anxiety, depression, and doubt. When you are walking through those times, the most important thing to know is that you are not alone.
This page provides information on self-care, screening tools, and local mental health providers that can help you or someone you love work through a variety of mental health issues. Also, if you would like one of our pastors to pray with you or for you, please contact the Woodland church office at 919-556-5455. Our staff would be honored to walk through this season with you.
Please also check out our blog, Mental Health Meditations, for timely and helpful articles from mental health professionals on a wide variety of issues.

STEPS TO FIND A MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDER
*It is always a good first step to talk to your regular family doctor/pediatrician as they often have referral lists available to you. You can also contact your insurance company to get a list of providers in your area that are “in-network”. Even if a provider is not in your insurance network, they can still work with you, and then you can file for your out of network benefit (which, in many cases is not that much more expensive than a copay would be with your insurance!).
*Your doctor can help you decide if you would possibly benefit from medication, “talk therapy/counseling” or a combination of both. If you decide that medication needs to be a component of your treatment, your doctor can either prescribe that medication or will refer you to a specialist for that.
