Baptist Men & Women (BMW) Missions opportunities
The Woodland BMW is part of Woodland's missions efforts. We primarily focus on local and U.S. regional missions opportunities. Detailed BMW activity information is posted here. As always, BMW activities will also be announced during Church services, communicated in the Church bulletin, Woodland Weekly, telephone "All Calls", emails, and word of mouth. If you have questions or a request for assistance contact the church office. |
NEXT BMW BREAKFAST - Our next monthly breakfast will be on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 8:30a.m. We will be making final plans for our March 17th Brunswick Stew cook. (A donation of $5 will be appreciated. If you can't afford the $5, don't let that keep you from joining us for breakfast.)
NEW BREAKFAST SIGNUP PROCESS - In an effort to be better stewards, we have implemented a signup process in hopes of giving us a better headcount so we do not prepare too much food. Signup is simple and quick. (If you are not internet savy, that's ok, just let Larry Matthews or Thed O'neal know you plan on attending.) SIGNUP IS NOT MANDATORY.
Here's how you sign up:
1. Cut and paste the following URL into your browser search field. ( http://www.woodlandwakeforest.com/baptist-men-and-womens-breakfast-sign-up.html )
2. Provide your name and how many will be attending with you.
3. That's all there is to it! Thanks for helping us do a better job of serving our Lord.
DID YOU KNOW....that you don't have to commit to anything to be a part of the BMW and that you don't have to have trade skills (carpenter, electrician, engineer, handyman, chainsaw or equipment operator, etc) to join us on one of the BMW projects? Often we just need someone to run an errand, hand out water, bring us a tool, or just talk to the people who we are helping. The youth of our church are always welcome depending on the project and safety aspects. (We have been on recovery trips where participants had to be over 18 simply because of safety concerns in the area.)

Ramp/Handicap projectsPlease contact Larry Matthews, Buck Bailey, or the Church office if you know of anyone who needs assistance with a ramp. We stand ready to assist those in our community who can't afford ramps or other related handicap accessibility structures.
We are always looking for used aluminum ramps that we might be able to pick up as a donation or at a reasonable price. |
Disaster reliefMany chruches specialize in disaster relief and/or recovery activities. Woodland specializes in debris removal. Over the years we have developed a team who have and operate some heavy equipment along with chainsaws. BUT, you don't have to have either to help. Hand labor is always needed along with someone to just talk to those who are hurting. We also help in recovery through rebuilding projects.

Seasonal ProjectsPlease contact Larry Matthews, Buck Bailey or the Church office if you are aware of anyone who needs assistance removing leaves or other seasonal tasks because of health or age challenges.
We are happy to help out with small tasks, but try to stay away from larger construction type efforts depending on the circumstances and effort. |
