Music

The music ministry is an extremely important part of worship at Woodland. We believe that music can both teach biblical truth through song and unify God’s people. Our congregational singing incorporates both older and newer styles of music, focusing on songs which are accessible and theologically sound. 

Woodland offers several ensembles for people of all ages who want to use their musical talents to bless the church.

• Our adult Worship Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 and is always open to new singers. The choir rehearses various styles of music throughout the year, including anthems, praise songs, Christmas cantatas and Easter musicals.
• The Praise Team rehearses every other Monday evening at 7:30 (see church calendar for specific dates). The team consists of dedicated singers and instrumentalists that lead in contemporary selections during our worship services.
• The Woodland Ringers provide handchimes music at selected times throughout the year and are always looking for more ringers. Rehearsals take place on Sunday afternoons at 5:00.
• The Woodland Children’s Choir meets at 4:30 on Sunday afternoons, and is open to singers in grades K-5. The children participate in worship services once a month and put on a Christmas musical performance each year, as well as participating in social and service activities.
• Youth Choir also meets at 4:30 on Sunday afternoons, and is open to singers ages 12-17. The youth provide music in worship services once a month.
• Preschool Choir meets for 6 week periods twice a year, and sings in worship in the winter and spring. ​​
