Dr. Steve McKinion, Senior Pastor
Dr. McKinion joined the Woodland church staff as Interim Pastor in January 2021. He was affirmed by the congregation to serve as the Pastor of Preaching & Vision in September 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi College, a Master of Arts from the University of Mobile and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. While in Scotland, Dr. McKinion served as pastor of a local congregation. He has trained students as Professor of Theology and Patristic Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest since 1998. He and his wife, Ginger, have three adult children, a daughter-in-law, and a son-in-law.

Ben Fuller, Minister of Care and Counseling
After almost eight years as Minister of Youth, Ben took on the responsibilities of Member Care and Counseling while completing requirements for his Licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy. Ben is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Campbell University, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ben grew up at Woodland and went to seminary after a successful career in business. He and his wife Keevy, who is our Discipleship Minister, have two daughters. Peggy Degler, Director of Weekday Preschool
Peggy joined the Woodland staff in 2014 as the director of Preschool at Woodland. Peggy has a wealth of preschool and children's ministry experience, having previously worked as a Children's minister and a Preschool Director in the Raleigh area. Most importantly, she has a heart for young children and families that is evident to all in the Woodland Church family. She is married to her husband Ed and they have three children and five granddaughters.

Keevy Fuller, Minister of Discipleship
Keevy moved to Wake Forest in 2018 to pursue a Master of Divinity in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She first joined the Woodland Church staff as an Intern in May 2020 and soon made the transition to Discipleship Minister. Keevy has served in children’s ministry, youth ministry, young adult ministry, prison ministry, women’s discipleship, and a missionary in other countries. Her desire is to help individuals grow in their relationship with the Lord through the study of God's word and in relationship with other believers. She and her husband Ben have two daughters. One of Keevy's favorite things to do is to spend time in nature, whether walking on a trail or hanging her hammock.

Danae Medlin, Minister of Children
Originally from Colorado, Danae graduated from the University of Mobile in Alabama, and Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest. Most recently she was an elementary teacher at Thales Academy in Wake Forest. Danae loves ministering to children and their parents. Before becoming the Children’s Minister in January 2023, Danae served Woodland in the Worship Ministry beginning in 2019. Danae is an accomplished musician and piano teacher. She and her husband, Jonathan, are Georgia Bulldog football fans who love Black and White Coffee. They have two children, Mollie and Eleanor.

Debora Godfrey, Office Administrator
Debora joined the Woodland Church staff in 2012. She retired from NC State University in 2013, after 33 years of faithful service. She has three step-daughters and nine grandchildren. Debora maintains the church calendar, produces bulletins, updates weekly prayer guides and assists church staff with multiple daily and weekly administrative responsibilities.

Chris Snyder, Minister of Students
Chris grew up in Wake Forest and attended North Raleigh Christian Academy. He is a recent graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry. Chris joined the Woodland staff in February 2025 and enjoys spending his free time playing pickleball, exploring new places, and catching the latest superhero movie. His commitment is to partner with parents to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus, glorifying and enjoying Him.
