Dr. Steve McKinion -- Interim Pastor

Dr. McKinion joined our Woodland church staff as Interim Pastor in January 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi College, a Master of Arts from the University of Mobile and a Ph.D. from King's College, University of Aberdeen in Scotland. While in Scotland, Dr. McKinion served as pastor of a local congregation. He currently serves as Professor of Theology and Patristic Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest. In addition to serving as a professor since 2005, Dr. McKinion serves the local church as Interim Pastor and Church Consultant. He and his wife, Ginger have three adult children.

Rev. Chris Walker -- Associate Pastor

Chris joined the Woodland Church staff in 2009 and just begun his eleventh year of service at Woodland. Chris is a graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is also a graduate of Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest where he earned a Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry. Chris is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Ministry at Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, NC. Chris and his family enjoy watching animals at the zoo and having pajama and movie days at home.

Rev. Carin Daniels -- Children's Minister

Carin Daniels joined the Woodland Church staff as Children's Minister in April 2017. She is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington and has a Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School. Carin has previously been in youth and children's ministry in Wilmington, Clayton, Apex, and Wake Forest, NC. She and her husband Greg, have two daughters, Ansley and Addison.

Peggy Degler -- Preschool Director

Peggy joined the Woodland staff in 2014 as the director of Preschool at Woodland. Peggy has a wealth of preschool and children's ministry experience, having previously worked as a Children's minister and a Preschool Director in the Raleigh area. Most importantly, she has a heart for young children and families that is evident to all in the Woodland Church family. She is married to her husband Ed and they have three children and five granddaughters.

Rev. Ben Fuller -- Youth Minister

Ben was born and raised three miles down the road from the Woodland and has been attending here since before he was born. He received a B.A. from UNCW and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, NC. He is very happily married to the love of his life Keevy. When it comes to how he feels about Woodland, Ben doesn't mince words: "I love Woodland and the people here. Woodland is an incredible church family. I feel so blessed to be here and to be serving these youth and their families." Ben and his lovely wife, Keevy have been married since May of 2020.

Keevy Fuller -- Apprentice/Ministry Intern

Keevy is from Sophia, NC and has served in children’s ministry, youth ministry, young adult ministry, prison ministry, women’s discipleship and as a missionary in other countries. She is currently a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Wake Forest where she is pursuing a Master of Divinity in Biblical Counseling. Her desire is to be trained and equipped to love people well. She loves discipleship and longs to help individuals grow in their relationship with the Lord. For the past year Keevy, has been serving with The Summit Church through their Developing Ministry Leaders Program as an Apprentice. This Apprenticeship program is two years and seeks to provide ministers hands-on experience in a local church setting. We are grateful for Keevy to have the opportunity to serve at Woodland for the final year of her Apprenticeship program. She and her dear husband Ben have been married since May of 2020.

Rev. Amy Brundle -- Music Minister

Amy has lived in the Triangle area since 1999 and joined the Woodland Baptist Church ministerial staff in 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Meredith College and a Master of Divinity in Worship Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Amy is a classically trained singer and flautist, and has been leading worship in churches for over 15 years. She has a passion for uniting congregations through worship, encouraging innovation in worship music, and training musicians to be leaders. Amy lives in Raleigh with her husband, Scott and a spoiled calico cat named Brandy.

Marilyn Basinger -- Financial Administrator

Marilyn Basinger has served as Woodland's Financial Administrator for ten years. Constantly smiling, Marilyn keeps track of budgets, receipts, expenses, payments and staff payroll. She is a mother of four, grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of seven.

Debora Godfrey -- Office Administrator

Debora joined the Woodland Church staff in 2012. She retired from NC State University in 2013, after 33 years of faithful service. She has three step-daughters and nine grandchildren. Debora maintains the church calendar, produces bulletins, updates weekly prayer guides and assists church staff with multiple daily and weekly administrative responsibilities.
